Joseph Williams is an artist and art instructor who has recently moved to Sacramento from Ohio, where he spent the last two years teaching painting and drawing at Franciscan University of Steubenville.  He began his artistic development at a young age and pursed higher education at Azusa Pacific University, earning his BA in studio art in 2004.  Prompted by his passion for children’s book art, Williams went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia in 2006.  Following grad school, he enjoyed the chance to return to his hometown community of Yuba City and become involved as a local artist.  He continues to pursue publication as a children’s book illustrator alongside his teaching and art studio endeavors.  The subject matter of his paintings emphasizes themes of nature, animals and children. website: www.jwillustrator.com

As a young man, Joseph Glass was fascinated with ocean life and became a scuba diver, so he could explore the beauty under the sea.  Joseph has taken many dives off the Monterey/Carmel coast, the Southern California coast, and around the Hawaiian Islands over the years.

Motivated by the beauty of the ocean and the serenity it brought him, Joseph began to paint and photograph what he saw!  In the 1990’s with his renewed interest in Art he started to develop his skills.  Joseph has studied with bay-area and Hawaiian renowned artist Edgardo F. Garcia, the father/mentor of Hawaiian artist, Walfrido Garcia.  You can find Walfrido’s paintings hanging in Wyland’s art galleries in Hawaii, Carmel, and throughout the USA.

Joseph’s style can be described as romantic realism with his own individual perspective in his artwork.  He invites you to enjoy his work.

*Note:  Wyland is known for his whaling walls, life-size ocean murals  throughout the world.
