Irene Rodigo has been painting since she was a small child, however, about 15 years ago she began taking her art serious and hasn't been able to put down the bush since! Rodigo's first exhibition was in March of 2003 at Triad Family Services. Several of her pieces are displayed in the children's waiting room area. Irene was invited to be a part of the 18th Annual Festival de La Familia Art Exhibit at Cal Expo this past April 2009.
In sculpture I try to keep out of my own way. I try to let it flow through me. I am the tool. For now my work seems to be more mythical and spiritual in nature. The pieces tend to tell stories. I'd like to go abstract, but what comes out tends to be realistic and detailed. I'm attracted to organic forms; long flowing curves. Hands, faces and the rest of the body call to me in the classical tradition.
